Alanna and Kieran’s Joyful Stick Season Wedding at the Woodstock Inn and Resort in Woodstock, Vermont

For my last wedding of the year, I worked with my dear friend, lighting guru, and all around wonderful human Em Pogo, of PogoPhoto- many of these photos are hers!

I especially love working at the Woodstock Inn during the colder months, with the fire crackling in the welcoming lobby, the evergreen that surrounds the Inn on full display, and the surrounding village of Woodstock feeling festive for the coming winter season. Alanna and Kieran’s wedding had all these cozy vibes, with the addition of all of the joy and laughter present not only at their spirited reception, but at their church ceremony as well.

Alanna and Kieran live in the Rochester, NY area, where I spent four wonderful years at photo school at RIT, so we quickly connected over favorite places and shared memories. I especially loved the quiet getting ready moments with Alanna, her mom, and her sister as it felt less like work and more like reconnecting with old friends. It was also a treat to capture the traditional Greek dance honoring Alanna’s family’s heritage, also a nod to one of their favorite movies (and mine as well) My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

As this was the last wedding of the year for me, I wanted to take a moment to thank every person who gave me the honor of photographing their wedding this year and to all who gave me encouragement, second shot for me, or worked alongside me as a fellow vendor. This was my favorite wedding season ever, and I’m excited to see what next year brings.
