Sawyer and Adam’s Adirondack Woodland Wedding at Otis Mountain in Elizabethtown, New York
**A giant thanks to my friend and incredible photographer Chris, of Silk City Photo, who made the trek from CT to the Adirondacks to capture Sawyer and Adam’s wedding by my side- many of these images are his**
Sawyer and Adam first met when they were in first grade, and were background characters in each others’ lives until they reconnected after college. Since reconnecting, they’ve through-hiked the Appalachian Trail, lived through a long-distance relationship as they pursued graduate degrees at Yale and Cornell, and become home and puppy owners. When I met up with them last fall to photograph their session on the Essex-Charlotte ferry, I instantly fell in love with their kind natures and the genuine care they have for their friends and community.
Otis Mountain, which is a community ski hill and the home of the Otis Mountain Get Down music festival, provided the forest, stages, and unique atmosphere for Sawyer and Adam that was the perfect reflection of their loves and values. Sawyer and Adam brought their favorite local bluegrass band, Alice’s Fault, on board for their wedding, and I loved walking through the forest and hearing the joyful music echoing through the trees. In a way, they created their own, mini music festival where guests felt free to explore the hills, cozy up with friends in the makeshift living room created by their incredible planner, Meg, and even sneak in a game of baseball behind the tent.
