Issy and Nick’s Golden and Green Wedding Weekend in Aspen, Colorado
2,000 miles. That’s the distance between Middlebury College, where Issy and Nick first met, and Aspen, Colorado, where they said their vows on the first weekend of fall. In-between their first meeting and their first kiss as a married couple have come triumphs, trials, degrees completed, a golden retriever puppy, cross-country moves, and layers and layers of love and meaning woven together as they have fallen more deeply in love as time moves on.
I was honored when Issy and Nick reached out to me, wanting me to fly to Colorado so I could capture the way the light illuminates the golden and green leaves of the changing Aspen trees, and most importantly, memorialize the way their love feels.
Every event that took place over the first weekend of fall was filled with meaning and was an absolute joy to capture. From the rehearsal and dinner illuminated with the last rays of the final day of summer, where Issy and Nick’s closest friends and family toasted the couple, to their wedding day, filled with appreciation for each other, and the people in their lives who have seen them through every moment. My favorite part of the weekend to witness was their disco afterparty, held in a log lodge at T Lazy 7 Ranch, where the colors, crowd, and decor was all a treat to photograph!
